Method: how the figures are read, worked out and checked
The source, the definitions, the checks that run before a record is written, and what is not updated automatically.
One source, and what it is
On this site's board (ABG, INL, DSY, SLM, SOL, HAR): every figure is a reading of TradingView's public screener for the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, taken on 6 November 2026 after the close of 6 November 2026. The screener quotes JSE prices in cents, and the pages show the rand figure beside them. It does not print the trading date, so the date on the pages is the session that had just closed when the reading was taken.
On this site's board (ABG, INL, DSY, SLM, SOL, HAR): there is no second reading: the JSE's own board could not be read from this server (it answers with a block). The checks below are therefore about consistency, not agreement between two sources, and every company page says so.
How each figure is worked out
On this site's board (ABG, INL, DSY, SLM, SOL, HAR): close: the last price on the board, in cents; rand = cents ÷ 100. Change: as the board prints it. Previous close: the close ÷ (1 + change). 52-week low and high: the board's own. Position: (close − low) ÷ (high − low), 0 at the low and 100 at the high. Cost of a purchase: shares × close.
On this site's board (ABG, INL, DSY, SLM, SOL, HAR): nothing is typed. A figure the source does not carry is not printed.
Checks before a record is written
On this site's board (ABG, INL, DSY, SLM, SOL, HAR): the close must lie inside its own 52-week range, no day's change may exceed 35 percent, the previous close derived from the change must reproduce the close, the name must match and the position must follow from the range. The checker is tested with seven planted faults, and each must be refused.
On this site's board (ABG, INL, DSY, SLM, SOL, HAR): there is one reading and no second source, so the checks are about internal consistency only: no second reading of the screener was taken to compare against, and none of the figures was checked against the exchange itself.
What is not updated automatically
On this site's board (ABG, INL, DSY, SLM, SOL, HAR): the site does not refresh itself. The data was read on 6 November 2026; each table says so. If the data is read again, the pages are rebuilt and figures and dates change together.
What is deliberately missing
On this site's board (ABG, INL, DSY, SLM, SOL, HAR): a year of daily closes, so no chart, no month-end table and no one, three or five-year change: the source of daily bars refused requests on the day of reading. Dividend amounts and dates, broker commissions, tax rates and settlement details are not in any source this site could read, so they are not printed. A gap is stated on the page, not filled.
